Have the nasty job of trying to get out of Time warner Cable

As I understand it Comcast bought them out and my last bill jumped from 130.00 to 157.00  That is for internet, Phone and TV.  In that bill they said their would be an increase to nearly 180.00 a month.  How can retired people come up with that with no savings and strictly Social Security.  Lots of people are going to try to jump ship. I have never been in a contract but I may be now and I will just tell them, you better let me out of the contract because you won’t get paid because if there is no money, we can’t pay.  Also they can NOT TOUCH OUR SOCIAL SECURITY , so they would have no way of collecting it.  I would pay them to the end of the next billing date which would be the end of March if they cut me off, when they should.  I am calling Windstream today.  Have talked a couple of days ago.  I don’t like Dish much because snow gets in it and we can’t climb up to the porch roof to clean it out.  Wind affects it to and lightning and rain. but Ron and Larry have it and they say they have improved it a lot.  We do not have high definition TV.  Our Sony is about 10 years old and still kicking.    I have money  to buy a cheap one on sale. from the kids giving me money for Birthdays, mothers day and Christmas. but why buy one when this still works.  Besides I got my gift cards all spent on necessities and I just like the feeling of having that extra money in reserve. It is under 300.00 so it isn’t much but it would be if needed.  Joe and I wore ourselves out yesterday.  I told him I was going to take over  some of the light chores because as he ages he is not needing to push himself.  I told him open heart surgery done about 15 years ago is aging along with him so we will at least half way share some of the work.  He will not let me go down the stairs to the basement, so he was carrying my winter clothes and doing laundry at the same time.  So I put clothes away, fixed supper, washed dishes.  My body was screaming when I finally sat down.  They took my arthritis medication away because it can cause internal bleeding in the stomach, so I paid dearly last night. My knees and hips and back were  making me get up a lot earlier than I would have likesd.  Just can’t lay down once the pain sets in.  Have to go.  Coffee smell gets me every time.

Oh my goodness Lucy I agree. $185 for Comcast is what we pay and it is ridiculous! We need to call them today. And I know the feeling of those burning bones - after working hard. Man of man - it takes courage to keep going doesn't it? Sandie

I agree completely about the cost of keeping in touch. We pay about that much for two phones and a card (which is a phone of sorts) for the net. YES it is all too expensive...

Hope you feel better as the day goes on.......

Love from Florida...

We have Time Warner too. Their rates are ridiculous. They offer new customers good deals but stick the old customers with the big bills.

I don't even like TV any more. It seems to be all advertisements.
