Christmas Eve Tomorrow

MERRY CHRISTMAS ANS A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY BLOGGER FRIENDS

It is a  strange morning today. I finally got Joe to bring in the wedge we use in the car and much to  Spunky’s  surprise he is going to start training on how to get up on a couch with all cushions on the bed of the couch.  Don’t know how successful I will be. Joe is totally against me taking back my cushions but it is the only thing we have for people to sit on.  Problem no. 1.  He wants to jump and he can not do that yet.  He avoids the one ramp we will have  there.  Goes next to it and pumps his feet and we have to stop him from jumping  So collar on his neck instead of on the leash so I can control him better.  He gets to open his other present from Shirl tomorrow.  My daughter and her husband stopped by last night with a 50.00 gift certificate for groceries and a can of cookies and candy.  Then she had a OWL in my box and  it is cute as can be.  Some lady makes them at one of her stores and Spunky saw that.  It is long enough it will be hung, and he decided “oh what a fun toy”.  When he  saw it and I would not give it to him, HE HOWLED at me non stop until I put it out of sight.  Here he is going on 11 and still loves toys.  Tomorrow night his 8 weeks will be up.  I don’t think he will ever be able to just jump on the couch, any more.  He was barely making it before his knee went out.  He is walking with a slight limp but sometimes it is more than a slight one.  We enjoy him so much but he needs to learn another way of communicating with me, besides howling.  Turkey is thawed and I think we may have it tomorrow.  Once it thaws enough to get the giblets out I like to get the turkey cooked.  I will put him in one of those cooking bags.  Keeps the oven so much cleaner, and the turkey   more moist. Joe will help me.  I think this will be my last  time with a turkey.  My body framework is shot to heck but I just wanted to do it one more time.   We will have several packages I will freeze for later use.I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and I hear Joe so it is shower time.

Well that turkey sounds good to me! And I think the pup will be okay - it takes time to heal from wounds and surgeries. It was nice that your daughter brought over such a nice gift. Merry Christmas. sandie

Glad Spunky still likes toys.
Hope he is improving each day. I think I told you my dog lived to be 21 years old.

Those things are not toys, they are practice, they are all coons, and he will show that dude someday, he has plans....
